Co-Hitter of the Week: Samantha Carrillo, TAMIU

Carrillo went 5-for-9 at the plate to lead TAMIU to a three-game sweep over Oklahoma Panhandle State. She totaled 2 homes runs, 5 RBI, 12 total bases and 4 runs scored against the Lady Aggies. Carrillo hit a first-inning solo home run in the opener to push TAMIU to a 3-0 lead before getting the Dustdevil offense going in the second game with a two-RBI single in the first inning. She concluded the series by once again accounting for TAMIU’s first run with a second-inning solo home run in game three.
Co-Hitter of the Week: Arlynda Flores, St. Mary’s

Flores helped the Rattlers to a perfect week, hitting .556 with 2 doubles, a triple, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. She had hits in all three games, including two games with two or more hits. She smacked her first triple of the season and had two base hits in the Rattlers come-from-behind victory in the first game of the series against the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She wrapped up the series by going 2-of-3 with a double, RBI and run scored. Flores also saw action on the mound last week, picking up the win in relief against the University of Texas of the Permain Basin. She allowed 1 run on 3 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 5 to earn her first win on the mound this season. For the season Flores is hitting .264 with 5 doubles, a triple, a homerun, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored. She has been as strong in the field defensively, producing a .989 fielding percentage in 93 chances.
Pitcher of the Week: Paige Sandahl, St. Edward’s
RHP, SO, Dripping Springs, TX
Sandahl helped lead the Hilltoppers to a 3-2 week, which included a three-game sweep of Lincoln to open Heartland Conference play. The Dripping Springs, Texas native, went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA. She struck out 10 batters in 9 IP. Against Lincoln, Sandahl threw a complete game two-hitter with seven strikeouts.
