Munoz (Sr., Bulverde, Texas) improved to 12-3 with the victory, allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out 4 in six innings of work. UT-Permian Basin (6-18, 0-6 HC) opened the game with two runs in top of the first inning. Hilltopper starting pitcher Lana Jo Hairston walked the bases loaded before giving way to sophomore Paige Sandahl on the mound. Now 16-11 for the year and riding a six-game winning streak the Cardinals remain atop the Heartland with their 6-0 mark. The win gives the Hilltoppers their second-straight conference win. 

St. Edward&rsquo;s (5-4, 2-0 HC) got a quick start in doubles as sophomore Ned Boone and senior Brett Powers paired up in the No. 3 position to take down Nathan Peters and Daniel Dromirov, 8-0. Sophomore Ryan Wiggins and senior Justin Raiti followed with a victory in the No. 2 match against Juraj Surovy and Kevin Klein, 8-6. Keefe Field.

Behrend (Sr., Comfort) improved to 4-0 this season, allowing just 2 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 6 batters. Sammy Rivas (Jr., San Antonio) tossed a perfect 1.1 innings to earn his second save.

The win gives the Hilltoppers their second-straight conference win. 

St. Edward&rsquo;s (6-5, 2-0 HC) was able to take all three doubles points beginning with the Hilltopper duo of freshman Paige Rachel and Audrey Tompkins over Laryssa Ferreira and Emily Gerber, 8-4 in the No. 1 match. Sophomore Mary Bain and senior Eliabeth Jacobi too the No. 2 match over Christa Lawlor and Ashley Dunham, 8-1. St. Edward&rsquo;s raced to a 7-0 victory in game one, and got a walk-off home run from senior Lisa Paul in the bottom of the eighth to win game two, 3-2 in extra innings.
Sandahl (7-4) was dominant on the mound, allowing just two hits while striking out 18 batters. The 18 strikeouts broke the school record for punchouts. St. Edward&rsquo;s (4-4) swept the Rattlers in all three doubles matches to start the afternoon. Junior Mick Walter and senior Boris Barrios took down Bitas Van Dijk and Nestor Moreno in the No. 1 match, 8-2. Senior Justin Raiti and sophomore Ryan Wiggins paired up to take down Andre Klipe and Guy Rutton in the No. 2 match, 8-6.
