UTPB Baseball Slugger Drafted by Atlanta Braves

The long ball threat for The University of Texas of the Permian Basin will now be swinging his bat for the Atlanta Braves organization. In the 23 round with the 704 pick the Braves drafted UTPB sophomore Evan Gattis.

Gattis, a first team All Heartland Conference player, started 57 games for the Falcons hitting .403 with 54 runs, 77 hits, 62 RBIs, 19 doubles, two triples, 35 walks (11 intentional) and 12 homeruns.
