WACO, Texas - Forward Ryan Hodgson from Texas A&M International and goalkeeper Kevin Leib from St. Edward’s have been named Heartland Men’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. The awards were given for matches played from Sept. 1 - Sept. 4.

Offensive Player of the Week
Ryan Hodgson, Sr., Forward, Texas A&M International
Hodgson scored all three goals for TAMIU Men's Soccer this weekend. The two goals on Sunday beat RMAC opponent Colorado Christian in the inaugural match between the schools, 2-1. Hodgson finished the Dustdevils weekend with six points in 114 minutes and one game-winning goal.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kevin Leib, Sr., Goalkeeper, St. Edward’s
Leib helped lead St. Edward's to a 2-0 opening week. After leading the nation in goals-against average in 2015, Leib tallied two clean sheets in the opening weekend for the 14th-ranked Hilltoppers. The senior made two saves against Metro State and one more against No. 6 Colorado Mines. The Hilltoppers started the season with two big road wins against RMAC opponents.
