A fast start in doubles always is a good thing in collegiate tennis and that is exactly what Incarnate Word got over the weekend in a 6-3 win at Trinity.
The Cardinals swept the three doubles matches to open the day giving Trinity a deficit the Tigers could not manage to make up.
At number one Francisco Segura and Jose Arizpe won their doubles, narrowly, 9-8. They then came back in singles at numbers one and two for two more wins. Segura won his singles when the Trinity player retired in the second set. Arizpe was a 6-3, 6-2 victor at number two and that was the needed fifth point for the team win.
