UTPB finished the season with a 15-12 record (9-5 in conference play).
The University of Texas of the Permian Basin ended the regular season on a four game win streak as the Falcons defeat the Jets from Newman 53-36.
The Falcons lead the game wire-to-wire as they jumped out to a 30-15 halftime lead and never let it go. UTPB added 23 points to Newman’s 21 in the second half to go on to a 53-36 victory.
Miesha Blackshear finished the game with a double-double (15 points and 10 rebounds) to lead all scorers in the game. Blackshear added five steals, two blocks and three assists. Just behind Blackshear was Tammy Acosta and her 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal.
UTPB finished the season with a 15-12 record (9-5 in conference play) to finish in third place and secure a spot in the post season tournament.
The Heartland Conference Tournament will start on Thursday, March 4 at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. More information will be released on the tournament next week.
