Heartland Brand Standards Guide (PDF)
WACO, Texas -- The Heartland Conference is pleased to unveil a new brand identity for the conference designed to modernize the current brand which has been in use since 2010. The new brand release completes an over 18-month process that began in January 2016.
The conference logo will now be available in each of the member institution’s school colors providing them with a unifying conference mark that will seamlessly blend into individual branding efforts. Individual institutional colored logos will be available for multiple applications including jersey patches, facilities (i.e. courts, fields, and other facilities) and digital platforms like websites, social media and live stream broadcasts.
The conference brand also includes a set of championship and champions marks for the first time. Each of the conference’s 13 sports will have a custom championship logo used in conjunction with the conference tournament for that sport. In addition, each of the conferences 13 members, nine full members and four affiliate members, will have access to a custom champions logo for each conference championship they win.
The brand was completed in conjunction with the UAFS graphic design program which submitted 9 different designs to the conference. After weeks of deliberation, a redesign committee consisting of Heartland Conference stakeholders selected four final designs to fine-tune. After each brand identity was finalized, the designs were submitted to the full conference, and former UAFS student Talia Blanton’s design was selected as the new conference identity.
The championship and champions logos were developed by Rickabaugh Graphics, a nationally recognized branding firm based in Ohio whose clients include Ohio State, Iowa, The University of Texas, Texas A&M and many others.
