Regional Brackets
INDIANAPOLIS – Two Heartland Conference baseball teams are headed to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship as Lubbock Christian and Rogers State both earned bids to the South Central II Region tournament.
Lubbock Christian will be the No. 3 seed in the South Central after claiming the Heartland Conference regular-season title. The Chaps own a 35-15 record coming into the tournament and pose one of the top offensive lineups in the region. LCU will face off against Rogers State in the opening round of the regional. The Chaps were 2-1 against RSU during the regular season.
Rogers State earned the No. 6 seed after claiming the Heartland Conference Tournament title in their first trip to the postseason since joining Division II. RSU ended a six-year run by St. Edward’s as champion tournaments during their automatic qualification to the NCAA tournament. The Hillcats own a 34-16 record and will face conference rival Lubbock Christian in the opening round of the tournament.
The regional will take place in San Angelo at Angelo State May 16-18. The official tournament schedule and game times will be announced on Monday, May 12.
