WACO, Texas - Rogers State’s Hagen Barmasse and Mica Eastin, and Dallas Baptist’s Addison Mitchell have been named the Heartland Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Week for tournaments played from Mar. 8 - Mar. 14.
Men’s Golfer of the Week
Hagen Barmasse, Rogers State
Senior, Houston, Texas
Barmasse finished tied for third at the Dave Falconer Classic shooting a one-under par, two round total of 143 at Chamberlyne Country Club in Danville, Ark. Barmasse finished four strokes out of first place after shooting a 71 in Tuesday's round two moving into third after a sixth place finish after round one. This is Barmasse’s first weekly honor this season.
Women’s Co-Golfers of the Week
Addison Mitchell, Dallas Baptist
Freshman, Fort Smith, Ark.
Addison Mitchell claimed her second individual medal in as many weeks after finishing six-over par at the Midwestern State Invitational. She helped DBU to their second straight win as well, and the win set a program record for most wins in a single-season at six. Mitchell shot back-to-back rounds of 75 (+3) on the 5,926-yard course at the Wichita Falls Country Club. Mitchell picked up her second-straight golfer of the week honor.
Mica Eastin, Rogers State
Junior, Carrollton, Texas
Eastin also earned individual medalist honors shooting an identical 75-75 for a six-over par two round total of 150 at the same Midwestern State Invitational. Eastin helped lead the Hillcats to a ninth-place finish, their third highest finish of the season in the largest tournament field of the season for RSU. This is Eastin’s first golfer of the week honor this season.
